Tecno started as a constructor of karts in Bologna, run by the Pederzani brothers. They soon moved up into car racing with Formula 3 (winning several championships in 1968) and Formula 2 chassis (their first car was F100 in 1967).

Tecno 69, though produced and raced in 1969, it was also raced in the early races of the 1970s Formula 2 season, the picture above is Clay Regazzoni, the 1970 Champion, was driving the 69. He would drive the new Tecno 70 (produced in 1970, see below - Picture from Gerald's Motor Sport Pictures) in the latter season.

Here's another Tecno 70 in the European Formula 2 race in 1970, driven by Francois Cevert - a younger rookie of the Tyrrell Formula 1 team. (Picture from Gerald's Motor Sport Pictures)

Tecno launched the 71 in the early part of 1971, and the picture shown was Francois Cevert driving the Tecno 71...

... but Tecno chose to displace the 71 and insteaded by the new 72 in the later part of 1971, also driven by Cevert.
Tecno was highly successful in junior formulae, and an interested sponsor in the shape of Count Rossi (of Martini & Rossi fame) was prepared to back the brothers in an attempt to build an F1 car and engine from 1972. This was the end of Tecno in Formula 2.
