鴕鳥走了 The Song of Sparrows (Avaze gonjeshk-ha)

一天，鴕鳥走失了！老豆立時被魦，逼於無奈到城裡當送貨員，駕著鐵騎在馬路上風馳電掣，險象還生，但為要養活鄉間的一竇老婆仔女，儘管揾食有多艱難，仍然要頂硬上。從鄉間(《小鞋子》) 到城市(《風吹柳樹靜》，第3屆)，再到今次的城鄉往返，馬芝廸的作品都流露出一種都市化所帶來純真消逝的慨嘆，《鴕鳥走了》正好要在家庭中從新確立簡樸的童真、家庭角色應有的價值觀。戲中的金魚、鴕鳥、麻雀不就是昔日純真的象徵？只可惜牠們都跑了、丟了、溜走了。

One day, an ostrich runs away from the farm where Karim works. Karim is blamed for the loss and then sacked. He has no choice but goes to the city to look for job for his family, for repairing the hearing aid for his daughter. Later he finds one, but with life at risk: to ferry people and goods through heavy traffic. There is always a loss of innocence and its resurrection in Majid Majidi’s works (CHILDREN OF HEAVEN). SONG OF SPARROWS is no exception, with its central character, the father, as the one who protects his family here, to keep its values intact and not being washed away through urbanization.
