To Each His Own Cinema (給康城的情書)

Finally saw “To Each His Own Cinema” (給康城的情書).  Roman Polanski's "Cinema Erotique" and Walter Salles's "5,557 Miles From Cannes" should be the most entertaining ones among them.  Could not imagine that there are so many blind "viewers" in these films (Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's "Anna" and Chen Kaige's "Zhanxiou Village").  You won't believe it – I find Tsai Ming-Liang's "It's a Dream" most touching.  I have read columnists writing that Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and Atom Egoyan pay tribute to Godard's "Contempt" and "My Life To Live" respectively, that Dardenne Brothers and Hou Hsiao-Hsien pay tribute to Robert Bresson's "Balthazar" and "Mouchette" respectively, and that Andrei Konchalovsky pays tribute to Fellini.  I think Wong Kar Wai's "I Traveled 9,000 Km to Give It to You" does also pay tribute to a film master.  Will have to see the film later to confirm it.   Btw, even some of these film masters are pessimistic about the future of cinema; and so we shouldn't just watch DVDs.   GO TO CINEMA!!!
