刺繡旅程十三篇  UFOs -Casalguidi embroidery

喜愛做手工藝者最大的樂趣是享受其中的製作過程及完成後帶來的滿足感,但很多時侯在過程中受到一些挫敗(如做得不滿意)或已經了解整個製作的工序和做法,又或受到另外一些更新鮮的製作吸引,便會把手上未完成的作品擱置在一旁變成了 UFOs(unfininished projects)。我的 UFOs 有很多, 其中的一個是 以下的 Casalguidi embroidery.

"Casalguidi " 是 named after 意大利的一條小村鄉,這類剌繡有它的一種獨特風格 、它的圖案溶合了很強質感類剌繡。Raised stem band or "Casalguidi stitch" 是其基本針步用來去表達 Casalguidi style 的雲石刻塑 ( sculptured marble) 效果, 多是 worked on linen (e.g. Zweigart linens), 配合上 一些 cutwork 或 four-sided stitch 的背境。

刺繡的另一 特色元素是 Venetian rosette, 若果它的完成物件是用作來做 cushions, curtains 或 袋子的話 ,大多會加上bobbles (little balls),picots , wrapped rings & tassels為裝飾。

This is my unfinished Casalguidi embroidery project. It was supposed to be made into a porch with strings and hanging bobbles. It was worked on linen with 4-sided stitch  as background.  Venetian rosette, padded raised stem band, doubled buttonhole bars stitches were used .
