"Kiasu" people

I hate taking the train at peak hours as this is what happens...

Whenever the train pulls into Jurong East MRT Station, all the working adults, who are waiting behind the yellow line, will start to take a few steps forward until they are near to the door. When the door opens, they will rush into the train and grab a seat without letting passengers alight first.

I really don't know what is wrong with these people. Where have all their manners gone? I remember a few years back, people would wait until all the passengers had alighted first before going into the train to find seats.

I think the main problem lies with SMRT as the interval between each train is about 3 to 4 minutes for peak hours and 7 to 9 minutes for non-peak hours. This explains why people are getting more and more "kiasu" nowadays.

In Hong Kong, people rarely rush into the train as the interval between each train is 1 to 2 minutes for peak hours and 3 minutes for non-peak hours. I hope SMRT will increase the train frequency soon.
