Yesterday I learnt in Pastor Steve Schoof's sermon that God loves us, He possesses us, therefore He will protect us and provide for us. Our pastor told us a story about a couple who loved birds, the couple sets up their backyard to attracts birds, but in Perth it's rare to find this kind of bird called "Humming bird", so the couple researched and found out these birds' favourite drink is sugar water. Therefore they prepared sugar water every morning to attract the birds. Finally there were four humming birds came to their backyard, each of them took a quick sip and then flew away, sometimes they fought between each other or disallow other Humming birds to take a sip. They never took their time slowly and enjoy the water together.
The couple could not understand why the birds fight all the time and never stand still to drink the water. The birds shouldn't fight because the couples refill the water everyday and had a lot of sugars stocked at home. One day the husband got the message and told the wife, " I know why they fight, it's because they don't know that there's unlimited supply of water and they worry the water will finished one day, therefore they prevent others to drink so they can keep more water to themselves"
This is like the love God has given us. God's blessings are unlimited as long as we believe in Him. He will possess, protect and provide us as we are His children. Though I may still think I am poor and not a millionaire, He provides enough shelter, food and family to me. I am thankful I've been given a chance to know God.
