Ch. Partarrieu 2006, Sauternes

Tried this bottle as a 'warm-up' just before the HK International Wine & Spirits Fair tomorrow.

Medium amber.  Good nose of orange peel, nuts and botrytis.  Sweet with surprising amount of acidity on a rather full body.  Almond flavours in the pretty long but slightly alcoholic finish.  Nice pairing with the leftover mooncake.

Somehow all the required components of the wine were there, but they do not quite click.  Perhaps they just need some time to integrate.  Heard that the 2005 is better, should get one soon.  ($100+/hb @ Taste)

Also got the Trivento Malbec and Beaumont de Crayeres Champagne (only $213!) from the same shop.
