Shanghai - Day 1 (Part I)

Saturday November 7, 2009 - Cloudy + Hazy

Snoopy:  "Houston, all set and buckled up!"  [We were only flying CX.]

Snoopy:  "Bye-Bye earth!"  [More appropriate as "Bye-Bye Hong Kong!"]

Snoopy:  "Only traveling at 300km/h?" [Riding the Shanghai Transrapid.  Very fast but extremely stable!  Good!!]

Snoopy:  "So dirty!?!?!?"

Time for lunch.  Went to the Jade Garden "蘇浙匯".

Compulsory appetizer - okay.

Ordered Appetizer:  (i) Shanghaiese Gluten (烤夫/麵筋) - my favorite and very delicious; (ii) 多春鱼 - not bad.

Snoopy:  "Can I please have the tomato?"

Crab meat spring rolls - very hot but crispy, good!

Crab meat steamed dumplings - juicy and yummy!!

Spring onion/soysauce noodles - okay.

Snoopy:  "Is that for me??"  [Nope!!]

The whole meal cost RMB130!!  抵食!?!

The reason we chose the resturant because it was located at 1933, ex-slaughter house.

The building was built in 1933.

It's concrete everywhere.

Very dark inside.

Interesting structure.

Empty shops-to-be.

Now a shopping centre but only a few shops opened.  This is the entrance to one of the shops.

Ten minutes walk to a MTR station.  The local MTR was extremely crowded.
