Father's Day & Dragon Boat Festival

The weekend of June 16 & 17 2007 is Father's Day. We celebrated in an interesting way: -

SATURDAY

Lunch - Korean BBQ in Sarabol (新羅寶) in Lee Theatre, Causeway Bay

Movie - Kidnap (綁架)

This movie is quite okay but it is disputed that the ending may not make sense... hahaa

Dinner - Shanghainese cuisine (上海菜) @ Siu Nam Kok (小南國), Times Square.

SUNDAY

Lunch - WA-SAN-MAI (和三味日本料理・わさんまい). This is a Japanese restaurant on 22nd floor (i.e. top floor) of SOGO (崇光百貨). This restaurant is run by SOGO, so holders of 'SOGO credit cards' or members of 'SOGO Club' enjoy 10% discount off. The food quality served is of 5-star class, comparable to (比得上) those in Japanese restaurants in hotels like Sheraton (尖沙咀喜來登) or Kowloon Shangri-La (九龍香格里拉大酒店). We had teppanyaki (鉄鈑燒/てぱにゃき) of Kobe beef (神戸牛柳・こべ牛) as well as some sashimi (刺身・さしみ) & sushi (寿司 ・すし). Our table was facing Leighton Hill (禮頓山) and Happy Valley (跑馬地) this time.

Dinner - Lei King Wan (鯉景灣). This is a fantastic area for fine dining and drinking, with a line of bars and restaurants along the coast, although the place may be inconvenient since it is on the east end of Hongkong Island. Oysters (蠔) and seafood are the main attraction.

TUESDAY (DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL 端午節)

We did some shopping on this public holiday.

Lunch - EXP @ Taikoo Shing (太古城). It is the first time I tried this restaurant, and there is another outlet in Festival Walk in Kowloon Tong.

Cityplaza (太古城中心) in Island East is a good mall for shopping, with some great shops. We watched Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer (神奇4俠: 銀魔現身) which is a big movie from Hollywood.

In the evening, we had dinner in Ruby Tuesday in Cityplaza. Why? Wao, Shanghai-Commercial-Bank credit cardholders can enjoy but-one-get-one-free in this American restaurant. After discount, it's only about HK$140 per person, for a prime-steak, veggie and drinks!

After dinner, we switched to Times Square in Causeway Bay for further shopping, such as Armani Exchange, ZARA and Charles Jourdan. Sale is available in town... Good!
