In Kowloon, I grown up, went to school, fell in love............
Mody Road was the street I lived for many years in my childhood.
Nathan Road is the road I always turned into from my Mody Road. Therefore it gave me unforgetable memories.
It is the main artery of Kowloon.
For so much times before moving to this boring city of Phoenix, a city with only driving and no walking on the streets, I walked along it with or without friends from the Star Ferry until it changes to other names after the Mongkok area. There were all kinds of shops, one after another, I would never felt bored walking along it.
In fact, it is a best place to chat with friends. I think nobody would tell me otherwise.
It is safe, so long as we are walking along it during day time and several hours after sunset !
Start with Peninsula Hotel, Peking Road, Chung King Arcade, Mody Road, Miramar Hotel, Hill Wood Road, Jordon Road.........
Everybody in Hong Kong feels free to walk and talk anywhere they want, including this road.
The road is such a wonderful place to social. People doesn't care how it looks like, how fast the businesses and shops changed hands. They just walk along it with friends, not caring about anything, just talk, talk, talk and walk, walk, walk......
It feels so good enjoying the beautiful sunset and the quiet scenes of both sides of the harbour ( as we hear only the sound of waves and the ferry engine), from the lower deck of the moving Star Ferry !
Yes, air tickets are bought. And I am sure that I will take the walk again. "Life" is really short and people can never return to all their memorable moments ! The most beautiful and precious moments and things - How many have you kept ? and, How many did you lose ?
I like that route too ! By the end, we can check out those wealthy people's luxury houses. With big iron gate and quiet neighborhood. Chow Yun Fat is living in Kowloon Tong ! In the good old days, young students will wait at his door and ask for his big signatures.
That road from TST star ferry all the way to TST East is a very memorable area for me too. David and I had our first few dates in some of the restaurants there and walked along the waterfront after a meal.
Marvelous, He chose the best place to win your heart. Tsimshatsui East and Ocean Terminal are two special places where hawkers are dare not to stay. So people feel peace and quiet and most importantly-romantic ! It was the Kowloon-Canton Railroad Terminal before changing to TST East. I grown up at Mody Road, when I was a small kid, I watched the demolition of the Terminal and land reclamation of the seaside outside the Terminal.....
Yeah, Igrown up at Mody Road, Mom took me to play at the triangle park in front of the Royal Observatory everyday after dinner. I played firecrackers at Tsimshatsui East when there was only a hyge reclamation area, full of rocks and dirts. I climbed up the back of the Observation at Minden Avenue.....wonderful years !
Jordan Road- To the right, there is Cox Road where there is the Boy Scout Headquarter, then the famous Girls School, then Elizabeth Hospital, then the Technical College, then Chatham Road.... then get back to Nathan Road. To the left, a Cinema named "Happy", then the Jordan Ferry. Waterloo Road- to the right, YMCA, that famous middle school up on the hill... To the right, the fruit wholesale market.. too much wonderful viewpoints to think about....

Ha, I usually do the same things as you. Walking along the streets there without aims.
Come back when you have holiday, you can do this as before.
