Day 2 (8.28) Yokohama
After that, we were on our way to the Anpanman Children's Museum. It's a great thing that our MM Ticket allow us unlimited rides on the Minato Mirai train line for the day, which means we can just go back and forth to the different stations without worrying about fares.
I had read much on the museum and even researched a little on the Anpanman cartoon, but really, neither of us have ever watched it or know too much about the characters. Still, the big kids in us just enjoy anything cute and kiddy! As we walk from the train station, we already see numerous moms with their kids on their way there, and once we arrive, wow, even more kids everywhere, and they're just so kawaii! I guess we had more fun watching the (mostly very well-behaved) Japanese children than the Anpanman characters! Since we're not real fans, I decided not to pay for entrance to the museum itself (it is very much small children oriented anyways), but just walk around the shops and bakery.

And of course, we wouldn't miss our chance to taste some of the super cute bread on sale at the bakery! With so many to choose from and without a liking for any particular character, I chose the Strawberry bun and the Curry man. Both were quite delicious but the curry one was quite spicy, totally not suitable for kids.

They even had a Chinese version of the Anpanman bun, steamed. But we didn't try it.

We then walked back to the train station (under the hot sun still) to get to our final destination: MM21. As I reviewed my pictures, I realized that I didn't take any pictures of MM21 except for this one of the landmark Ferris wheel... (I have to say that, before the trip, I had intention and aspiration to take many pictures during the trip... but once I got there, the rain and the hot and humid weather took its toll on me and I just didn't have the patience nor the urge to snap away.)

While we were walking inside an Antique toy store at the Yokohama World Porter, we found him sitting on a shelf: one of H. Bear Bear's ancestors!!

Time for another heat break... peach nectar, yummy!

It was then time to head back to Tokyo... after a hot day with lots of walking, and while we were still jet lagged, we were simply exhausted. I was so tired I didn't really care much about food anymore... even less about finding food. Therefore, we went to the department store to get some bentos to bring back to the hotel.

But even in my zombi-like state, we couldn't resist some dessert! (But we were really so tired that after eating dinner, we went straight to bed and only ate the cakes as breakfast the next morning). We got a Chocolate Banana Cake from Sembikiya (a famous fruit parlour) that, personally, looked more promising than what it really tasted like.

And there was a Strawberry Mille Feuilles from Henri Charpentier, which is guaranteed quality in itself! The puff pastry layers were so crisp and crunchy, and the cream so rich and smooth, it was decadent!

(To be continued... つづく)
