31 July: Shing Mun to Shatin via Lead Mine Pass 鉛礦坳

We shall go from Pineapple Dam to Lead Mine Pass where we can take a rest.  Then we shall walk along the side of Grassy Hill 草山 until we come to a trail that goes down to To Fung Shan 道風山, Shatin.  We shall emerge at the Shatin Railway Station.  The route, except the trail that goes down to To Fung Shan, is mainly paved road.

If it rains, then we shall change direction at Lead Mine Pass and go to Tsung Tsai Yuen, Tai Po.

Meeting Time: 9:00 am

Meeting Point: Tsuen Wan MTR Exit B  A public toilet is located in the mall opposite to the exit.  We can take the green mini-bus or a taxis to get to Pineapple Dam.

Hiking Time: about 3.5 hours depending on how much time we shall spend fighting off monkeys and enjoying the comfort of the pavilion at Lead Mine Pass.                  

DON'T FORGET to bring plenty of water, sun and rain gear as well as mosquito repellents.
