Dear Fridayhikers,
It seems that we can have dry weather and even sun throughout the week, but when it comes to Friday? The forecast is RAIN
.
Since last week's hike was cancelled, let's keep the Shing Mun Valley walk around the reservoir this week. We will walk in clockwise direction
. The route is 9.5 km and is estimated to take 3 hours.
Meeting time: 9 am
Meeting place: Tsuen Wan MTR Exit B1.
We will take #82 Minibus to the Pineapple Dam. Latecomers
can take a taxi.
PLEASE CHECK THE WEATHER REPORT ON FRIDAY MORNING. IF THUNDERSTORM WARNING OR/AND YELLOW/RED/BLACK RAIN SIGNAL IS ISSUED OR IS STILL IN FORCE at 7 AM, HIKING IS AUTOMATICALLY CANCELLED.

Dear Belinda,
Many thanks for your coordination. The weather forecast is really frustrating. How I wish we could be more flexible in our schedule and had gone hiking yesterday or today. I don't enjoy walking in the rain. I hate idling at home on a Friday just as much. So, please count me in and hope that the weather will have mercy on us.

Dear all,
Recently, my polio left leg has been bothering me – minor sores but nothing serious so far. What I suspect is that the decade-old supportive in-sole padding may need enhancement, maybe a centimetre or two thicker. I'll be looking into that. In any event, my next two Fridays have been dedicated to the Hong Kong International Film Festival. Hopefully, I'll be able to resume Friday hiking from mid-April. In the meantime, wish you all the best of Friday hiking pleasure.
