Meredith Waga designs the most romantic flowers I have ever seen. Her look is feminine, yet modern. There is nothing old-fashioned about a Meredith Waga arrangement. Her classes for us at FlowerSchool usually feature a mother-daughter theme, and the often attract three generations from the same family --- nother, daughter, and grandmother. Her compositions are always perfectly balanced with a touch of whimsy added so that they have a quality of lightness that is much sought after in the fashion business.
Besides her gifts and events business, Meredith does many, many weddings. On the day of each wedding, she insists on giving the bridal bouquet to the bride herself so that she can savor the moment when the bride first sees the flowers that she will carry down the aisle.
Meredith had been working for Calvin Klein when she decided that she wanted to work with flowers. We find that many of our students come to us with a fashion background. When they see the wonderful arrangements for the fashion shows and the many beautiful flowers that are given to editors as thanks for their coverage they are drawn to floral design. Fashion and flowers --- like food and flowers -- often work comfortably together. Just as fashions in dress change so do fashions in flowers. One of the most popular classes at school is the "Flowers and fashion" class. We have done classes featuring the "black bouquet" as well as the currently popular monochromatic white bouquet.
