Collocation (you are trying to express in your blog) is very powerful tool for you to expand your vocabulary by using basic verb, noun, adjective, even adverb.
Combination includes:-
(1) noun + noun
(2) adjective + noun
(3) noun + verb
(4) adverb + verb
(5) and more .....
One dictionary - Oxford Collocations - can be found in PAGEONE. (around $265)
A series of books is called Key Words for Fluency - Collocation Practice; I hope you find in bookshop. (I believe it is more difficult to find now because most of the students do not like to learn .... too simple, but it's powerful indeed)
