警方消息稱，被捕母親姓黃（ 41歲），是單親媽媽，無業，靠綜援過活。她與兩名姓楊、今年分別 18及 16歲的兒子租住粉嶺聯昌街昌華樓一個單位套房。據悉，婦人疑有不良嗜好，而兩名兒子亦無心向學，終日沉迷打機。
前晚 11時 30分，黃婦長子外出未返，家中只有她及 16歲幼子。現場消息稱，事發時，黃婦在家中吸煙，煙味惹來兒子不滿，兩人為此口角，有人一時激動，先後用衣架及竹枝追打兒子。母子從套房內追至門外，兒子擺脫母親後又躲回屋內反鎖，黃婦稍後用菜刀狂劈房門，驚動鄰房住客報警。
警員接報到場勸服自稱「教仔」的黃婦，其間警員發現她神情有異，稍後入屋搜查，結果在單位內撿獲小量 K仔，以涉嫌藏毒、襲擊和藏有攻擊性武器罪名將她拘捕。事件中，母子分別報稱不適以及手指受傷，由救護員送院檢驗。

THIS is why the elder generation of our society always harps about the younger generation or "generation x". Do they have a point? Yes. Were they born to do bad? No. Is it the responsibility of their parents? Yes. Yes. And Yes.
Let's move it away from the drug thing. Parents always talk about how well they treat their children etc.; how they buy their kids whatever they want etc.; how hard they work to be able to provide that etc. All absolutely legitimate. HOWEVER, did you ask your children what they really WANTED or NEEDED? Is it their fault if they aren't so expressive or not very good at communicating? Isn't it the responsibility of the parents to guide them? Let's all think about why we want children and most important of all, whether you're ABLE to bring them up in an environment that they feel comfortable. Do you have enough money? If not, will their living standards be lower than expected? Does that mean going to a "lower" quality school with "lower" quality students? Don't think about it when you're there - have some forethought!!!
