外國客大部份都有自己在外國的design team, 落單前已有自己的sketch diagram, 或唔知邊度弄來的辦或圖, 佢地俾錢, 佢地認為哪一款在外國市場會好賣, 工廠好少參與design
收到外國的design, 工廠會交辦期前, 做sourcing 布物料, 交辦房做辦, 報價給客人開會批核, 所有technology辦房會有advice, 包括fabric consumption & specification. Merchandiser只要多問, 要在限定時間內控制整個merchandising procedure.
To be a merchandiser, basic concept about technology is more than enough to face the daily challenges. The most important is that we need to communicate well with factories to seek their advice. Merchandising concept is essential to satisfy the job.

Technology is important for all industries. Even if for garmen, there are some people to monitor on the sold out and buy in item which is setting some quota for business growth. --> That is "hard" skills
Communication is only for soft skills which is also important for all industries as they need to get the order.
Either one missing cannot be making the business successful!
