Coastal Scents Gel Liner

For those who don't know, Coastal Scents is a cosmetic / makeup ingredients online company based in USA.

However, since most of the products are made in China nowadays, we who live in Hong Kong got the priviledge to get their products from TaoBao.com at a much cheaper price. Oh well I cant' ensure it's 100% same as CS but it looks like it is.

I've just placed my order for the Coastal Scents Gel Liner and hopefully it should arrive tomorrow. The price for the product from their website is USD$6.95, still pretty cheap compared to other brands!

The price I paid for on TaoBao is RMB$2X each ( excluding shiping)!

For those who know about taobao, search for it, for those who don't , msg me~~

I 've been using MAC's BlackTrack Fluidline and I think it's pretty good so far. By the way, Kate 's gel eyeliner is not bad too. The worst I've tried so far is the Maybelline one. It smudges really easily ( I have combination skin) and it won't stay more than 20 minutes.

Anyways, back to main topic, before I receive these items I just wanna share with you the photos, swatches, online reviews and youtube reviews.

I understand it might not be as good as the fluidline but for its price, I hope that i wont' be disappointed tomorrow when I try them on!

My stocks have arrived after I placed my order yesterday! They were wrapped very carefully with 2-3 layers of bubble wrap.

Colour in order: Platinum, Silk White, Peach Bellini, Envious, 24K Gold, Truffle, Deep Plum, True Black, Indigo Blue, Turquoise

I have a thing for shimmer colour, so my favourites shades are def Platinum and 24K gold as well as Turquoise. For Matt Colours, I like the Deep Plum and Truffle. The True black is a bit disaapointing, as the texture is already quite dried up, so it's almost impossible for me to draw a straight line in full colour with one stroke. The Envious colour is interesting too. I just don't know what /how to do with it yet. I am also looking fwd to using the silk white as inner liner on under eye too!

Overall the summary of my testing is:

Pros:

It's quite water-proof and smudge proof. The flash photo was taken half an hour than the 1st one and I used my hand trying to smudge them but it stays pretty well. 

Price is very good

The colour are quite pigmented esp the shimmery ones

Cons:

I do see some bits /chalks coming out from it. So it might make your face /eyes look dirty

Since I bought from Taobao, there's no guarantee of quality. 3 out of 12 jars are pretty dried up. I doubt if the seller will compensate.. but I'll try tomorrow

In overall, I do recommend CS gel liners esp in some special colours when its' hard for you to find elsewhere!
