morning coffee from Starbucks.......

I buy a coffee from Starbucks every morning when i start to work in this company  (its been more than 4 yrs).  Since this is a daily habit and i will be there around 08:30, each day u will see familiar face.  I mean customers not the staff there.  Of course, I know all the staff there no matter they are full time or part time staff.  They are very nice and all of them will remember ur name and cheer u up each morning when u are there.   But other familiar face just walk by or wait for coffee, they never say hi to each other.   I don't know any of them, though I heard some of the staff call their names each morning when i am waiting for my coffee.   But things will change........... a very humble man call Joe, each morning u will see him buy a "coffee of the day" and sit there reading his newspaper......... very quiet........ i never hear him talk to anyone even for the staff there........... One day he start to say morning to me.......it was a bit strange but i feel good.........  after that morning I try to find a chance to say morning to him when i buy my coffee in Starbucks,  but most of the time he is very concentrate on his newspaper......... we start to say hi to eachother once a while if we have eye contact.........very interesting.........
