A NEW PAGE IN THE CHAPTER CALLED HOME

Too excited to even start dispensing flowery language.  It was but yesterday afternoon that Bigsta' and I went to Hong Kong Dog Rescue kennels and in the first five minutes, met the 2nd love of my life (Bigsta had no trouble finding hers, meimei will always come 1st).  Judging from her hind legstand, warm licks all over and wagging tail, I reckon that she felt that she'd found us too.   

She had almost no competition.  Her permanent scars (likely to be muzzle wounds inflicted by her previous owners ...if I ever get my hands on him/her/them I'd flay them in two seconds flat) and ringworm infested left ear only added to our compelling urge to rescue her from the din of eager but forlorn woofs.   Her comparatively smaller size too, made the choice between her and Isobel an obvious though sorry one...

such a pity that Isobel was a good two sizes larger...and the thought of her in her kennel still breaks my heart.  If God could only answer only one prayer from me, I pray to God that she gets adopted soon, by someone who will love her as much (or more) as we loved meimei. 

It took us another couple of hours to get the paperwork done, taxi her to a vet in Mongkok, get her first round of shots and then a much-needed bath at home...strange thing being, that I never seemed to have ever lost the touch of giving a doggie a good one...she was simply wallowing in bubbles and bliss throughout.    She was a vision of sublime perfection when we were done - save perhaps for the fact that she desperately needs to be toilet trained...but then again no doggie's perfect.

I therefore present Scarface...ahem, no, JULIE (Her Highness did the christening after a confusing jumble of Mini, Quattro and Berry) - our 9 month-old little bundle of joy.
