網友 Grace 問有什麼英文歌介紹。這個太容易了，隨口也可以說出幾十首歌。但其實又很難，因不知從哪首說起。唔，既然 Grace 播兒歌，我又播兒歌！雖然這首歌實在很舊（超過四十年歷史！），但好歌是 timeless 的‥‥

其實這首兒歌一點也不小兒科，甚至有點傷感，因為它說出一個道理：小時候的純真會隨著年月逝去，兒時一起玩耍的好友，長大後便各散東西，不相往來了。每次聽這首歌我都會覺得有點唏噓，因為，它說中了我的遺憾。小學時的同學，我已全部失了聯絡。

Well, each to his own.
But I guess that's what makes the song so interesting. Being a language lover, I would say it all boils down to the beauty of words, or the beauty of literary ambiguity.

["Puff" is about] loss of innocence, and having to face an adult world. It’s surely not about drugs. I can tell you that at Cornell in 1959, no one smoked grass. I find the fact that people interpret it as a drug song annoying. It would be insidious to propagandize about drugs in a song for little kids. - Leonard Lipton

Karson, you have a rather unique interpretation of this song, the first I've heard.
Where I came from, back in the days when this song first came out, it was about smoking pot.

Haha, that means you must be very young.
It was indeed a very famous folk song; you can see it from the 2nd video. You don't get that kind of songs anymore - at least not one that everyone - seniors and children alike - can sing along.
