Title: Turning point.
Part one.
I just finished singing my favorites song “best of me”. No sooner had the music faded off, my cell phone started rang; I took a look on the screen. It was my mum; I didn’t want to pick it up because I just told her I was in the library instead of in the karaoke with my friends. While my friend was singing, my phone rang again, it’s my mum again, I guessed may be something happened, so I went out to a quiet corner and pick up the phone. “I am in the library, what’s up?” I used my hand to cover the phone because I was afraid she could hear the noise from the karaoke. “Your grandma was in the hospital, come to the hospital, we are in the ER.” From her voice, I can hear that something serious happened. I didn’t know how to answer her at this moment but when I tried to ask for more details, she hangs up the phone.
I dashed back to find my friends through the corridor full of red light, the red light makes me think of blood and even death. When I found my friends, I told them what’s happening. Fortunately, they understood my situation. So, I put down some money, grabbed all of my things on the table in to my bag, turned around and rushed to the bus station. I found the bus stop and wait for the bus. While I was standing, I started to think confusedly. When I got on the bus finally, I kept standing near the door in order to prepare to jump out of the bus as fast as possible.
Once I was in a place full of happiness and my favorite’s songs, but now, I am standing in a place full of sadness. I can see people sitting on the chair and praying, when I saw that the “operation” light was on.
I know that’s my grandma having the operation. Beside the door, I saw mum standing at the corner and most of my relative sitting on the chair. I walk to mum slowly and quietly, trying not to make any noise. When I walked between the chairs at the side of the corridor, I could see some of my relatives were sobbing. The smile always on their face has gone and I stand still next to my mum. “Your grandma got a fever and felt dizzy, so we sent her to the hospital, after the body check, the doctor said she need to have an operation in order to check the problems.” My mum whispered into my ear softly, I didn’t give her any response and keep standing next to her.
After about two hours, the door of the operation room opened. All of us stand up and I can see my granny was sleeping on a bed with checked pajamas. Her face looks white and green. I felt very scared at this moment because I could imagine she just fought with the evil, who was trying to take away her soul. After a few minutes, the nurse brought us to the ward. While I was walking to the ward, I saw other patients, they looked weak and tired and there were pipes link on their body, through their mouth, their hand and even the nose. I could feel the pain from them when I look at them.
When I turn around, I can see the same scene on my grandma. There is a lot of pipes link to her body and some machines next to her bed. The ward can’t accommodate too many people, so some of my relatives had to go out and wait. I stood behind my parents and keep quiet. While I was standing, I kept looking around and observe others. I could see the television at the side of the ward turns on and some of the elder were sitting in front of it but not speaking to each other. The tele was showing a program about wild life, they looked at the picture shown on the screen curiously. It seems that they want to be the animals and be free.
It is ten o‘clock already, I have been in the hospital for almost five hours. My legs feel a little bit pain because of the long time standing. I still have school tomorrow, so my parents told me to go home alone first. On the way home, the duration of the drive usually lasts for 15 minutes, but today, it just like last for a decade. Inside the bus, there were only three to four passengers. I stood at the corner which is near the entrance. At this moment, I just want to back home immediately. When I jumped out of the bus, I ran as fast as possible and when I saw door of my house, I feel I just escaped from the evils. I took out the key and walked in to my house, I can’t see anything in the darkness and I can only hear the sound of my breathing. I sat in front of the tele, I can see my shadow. I lay on the sofa and just left all of my things on the floor. I found the remote control and turn on the tele and try to calm myself down.
I took a look on my watch, it is 11 o’clock already, the tele is showing the news, when I saw the news about death, I turned it off because I didn’t want to hear anything related to death and illness. So I pick all of my things and went in to my room. I lie down on my bed and fall asleep immediately.
4 o’clock in the morning, I get up and sit at the edge of my bed. I look through the window, the sky now is dark, I got up and checked if my parents come back or not. When I took a look outside, I could see there are no shoes near the door, so, that’s mean they were still in the hospital. Oh, outside was freezing, so I got in to my room immediately and took a hot shower. After the shower, I dress up and the time now is only 5 o’clock. I didn’t want to stay at home, so I decided to go to the 24-hours McDonald’s near my school and had my breakfast. When I got up the bus, I am the only passenger. I looked at the sky and I could see the sun was already up to the sky, its color just like the little sun flower. I realized that it is the first time for me to enjoy this scenery, how stunning it was. It seems that it let me to forget the things of yesterday at this moment. I really enjoy the warm that the sun gives me, just like a hug. This was the first time that I didn’t want to get off the bus.
Unfortunately, I need to got off the bus. I walked into the McDonald’s and there were only two to three customers enjoying their breakfast. I ordered the meal and chose a sit in the corner of the restaurant. The coffee warms up my hand and I start eating my filet-o-fish. Suddenly, my telephone rang, that’s my mum. I picked up quickly.
”Where are you? We have just back home. ”
”I am on the way to school, is everything ok in the hospital?”
”Yes, grandma feeling quite well and her situation is stable now, can you come to the hospital and help us to take care of her? Your dad and I are busy in this evening.”
“Ok!” I hang up the phone and finished my coffee.
