I wasn't really expecting to already have replies to some job requests so fast

... As everyone knows after a frustrated attempt in trying to find a company willing to sponsor me a working visa, so that i could stay working in Hong Kong, and having to come back to Portugal again, i've been trying to find a job or a work to do, not just in Portugal but overseas too.
My option was always Hong Kong, because having plenty of friends there it eases the fact you don't have your family with you and so i wouldn't really have to worry, in case i would get sick or having some other health-related problem

. But at this moment, i can't really afford to be waiting for my chance in Hong Kong.
Sure, i still have two companies who actually said they would contact me in case they would open a new job vacancy, one as a soccer teacher while the other is to work as a soccer/swimming teacher, but this is just talking only. And one thing i learnt from my last trip to Hong Kong was to don't take others words for granted.
This way, i think the best option is to look somewhere else. At first, i really had no idea about where to look for jobs overseas, till my aunt Grace / tia Gracia and some other people suggested me to try also in China.

So i decided to write an application letter to three teaching companies in China after knowing they were looking for a Portuguese teacher:
- Jilin Province; Changchun- Hunan Province, Changsha- Hebei Province, ShijiazhuangAll of the companies already replied me back; two of them asked me whether i would be interested to join their teaching programs for the next school term, while one asked me to send all the copies of my certificates by email and questioned me for how long would i be willing to stay teaching in China and about when would i be available for teaching.
Even though what i really want is Hong Kong, it seems Hong Kong doesn't want me at the moment, so i rather take my chances somewhere else. Of course, these offers don't mean much since i'm not a Portuguese teacher and i don't hold a teaching portuguese diploma. Sports and P.E is what i learned at University, not how to teach someone how to speak a language.

Nevertheless, it's still a chance to teach and so i mustn't discard away this opportunity. It will be difficult since i don't really have any language teaching experience, but i have nothing to lose at the moment.
My only hope resides in those two Hong Kong companies, but i was disappointed before and don't want to be it again

Even you can't work in Hong Kong right now, but i think it's still a good chance to work in China for a while. At least you will get some more experience to work oversea and i think it's fun!
By the way, will you think about teaching people Portuguese?hahaha...if you're in France, then i am sure that i will ask you to teach me some Portuguese..haha..coz it sounds good!

I know people in China and they told me that foreign teachers are really in a great demand! If you will be working the the southern part of China, you can visit Hong Kong as often as you want too!
Hope to hear some good news from you soon!
Cheers

hm, your experience is similar to my friend. He wanted to be in HK teaching English, however he was never able to find a job here. Then he got an offer in Japan and now stayed there for more than 3 years already. I guess what meant to be is meant to be..may be you'll like China. Then after that, you can always try HK later. Good luck!!!
