I have similar one (see below picture) for 4-5 years. The fabric is still in good shape but the joints come apart easily. Most time is only one end come out, so the tower still can hold the cats and is not falling down! Some people suggest use the PVC cement (glue for plastic water pipe, usually is pink or purple color) to glue it. I don't as I do not know it harm the cats or not, just check the joints time by time. The other thing is the whole tower will shake very badly when the cat jump up and down or fight with others. Luckily till now (knock on wood), no one get hurt or any accident happen. So far, my 3 cats (2 boys - 6 yrs and 2 yrs and one girl - 8 yrs) are still love it! hope this can help you.
