Friday morning, 16Nov2007, I took my rucksack with about 4 litres water for a run at Cloudy Hill. It was mainly for the preparation of the Mountain Marathon race in December. The weight of the rucksack was mainly for pressured endurance training so that to adapt for the weight carrying during the race.![]()
In the first up hill, I used 19min to reach the Trigo Point and 37min to the top near the Transmission House, with good feeling. Then I descended slowly and suddenly found my left knee (rear part) was painful. I pressed on the top of the calf muscles and found that there were some painful spots at the tendo-muscular junction. That might be a sign of inflammation or tendon strain. ![]()
I made a right turn at the kiorsk near Point W102 and descended through a small path along the electrical wire in order to verify a new route for uphill. After around 20min of descend, I found that my left knee was becoming stretched and stiff. Then, I returned to the original Wilson Trail and descended to Tai Po Tau. I have used around 40min for this side track!
After a minute of rest, I ran up again trying to figure out whether it was my knee problem or tendo-muscular problem. I used around the same 19min to the Trigo Point, but then I decided to stop runing, as the strain became more serious than before. Eventually, I used another half an hour to return. ![]()
I tried to manipulate the tendo-muscular junction and found that there were some painful spots, which were not clear and the pain was dull. Upon a stretch test on ACL and PCL, they should be OK. There was no sign of meniscus problem as well. I really hope that it was only soft tissue problem rather than knee joint problem, which is more serious and difficult to heal.
A rest for two days.......should be the only option!! ![]()
