Without the portrait battery grip it is indeed a difficult task to do a perfectly vetical capture at night when everything is dim in the view finder. Any way, Chateau Frontenac main tower seen from Sainte Anne.

A baritone saxophone player doing his pieces for a small crowd gathered on Sainte Anne. Talentd musicians could be found every where on the streets in the old Quebc City.

This is another slanted picture taken without the battery grip---Edifice Price building at night.

I took this one of Chateau Frontenac standing on Marche Champlain before we got on the ferry going across the St. Lawrence River to the city of Levis side.

Another harp player, but this one is a male, playing his pieces on Rue du Don de Dieu during late hours.

This is such an elegant church located on Cote de la Potasse.

Look at the same church down on des Glacis. All right, I think that is all the night captures I have, and I should be able to go back to Day 2 dinner next time before I head on to Day 4.

Wow!  That Chateau main tower is pretty humongous.   Quebec must be a pretty wealthy town.  What time were the pictures taken?   Were there any hints of color in the sky or was it totally pitch dark?   Imagine if there were some clouds details in the background?   Oh well, not unless we have unlimited "resources" to spend hours scouting the location... for those of us who are tourists and have concerns about our families, yours is nonetheless a great keepsake picture.   Handheld too, right?

Yeah, the Chateau is indeed a hugh structure. Quebec City is not really a wealthy township, but only a tremendous tourism city. Montreal should be the well to do city in the province of Quebec. I did try to include a few clouds in these night captures, but the sky was so clear that night only the moon was hung up there. You can actually see the bright moon behind the Chateau centre tower in picture one that looks like a spot light. The sky was pitch black except for the whitish moon. Yup, you are right, I could not ask my family to wait with me for the once in a life time moment so I can only do the best with whatever I am presented. I seldom tag along my tripod, which weighs 7 pounds, so everything was done handheld, even with very slow shutter speed. Thanks for your comments, finally!
