I have shown the exterior of this church in a Day 1 post, and nothing is really exciting on the outside. I did not know the interior of the church was so breathtaking until I had the opportunity to step in on Day 3. The church is located at the corner of De Buade and Sainte Famille.

Too many stained glass mosiacs in the church so I only captured one of them for content check.

I have mentioned before I do not like anything in gold colour, but stepping into any Notre Dame catholic churches the colour of gold suddenly becomes very acceptable and mind soothing.

All the statues in the sanctuary were made out of gold including this Jesus figure with his crucifix close to the ceiling above the podium and altar.

This church is the oldest parish in North America since its establishment in 1647. The first bishop of North America, Francois de Laval, founder of Laval University as mentioned before in previous posts, is buried in this church inside a crypt.

Catholic churches older than this one can only be found in Mexico in North America. The church is well maintained and it looks more like a museum than a church for worship masses.

The church is also the first church in North America that was elevated to the rank of a minor basilica by Pope Pius IX in 1874. The quietness and serenity inside this church gave me a chill, because the architecture and items inside were in fact extremely meritorious and exquisite. You can see a chencel lamp in the church that was a direct gift from King Loius XIV of France. Historical person like that suddenly drawn very close to me even though he lived in the late 1,600's to early 1,700's.
