Skyscrapers from the past in Old Montreal

In 1929 this building, the Aldred Building, was the tallest skyscraper for Montreal beating the brick constructed New York Life building right next to it that was built in 1888, and was the tallest building in Montreal back then. Since this website does not allow large size pictures I am not able to show you the fineness of these two buildings in this picture. You have to be there to appreciate the skill of the sculptor who decorated the whole exterior of the New York Life building.
