Well, then let your mother design lor and ask her to consider the sizes of the furniture.  You can also give her some ideas or give her some pictures of other designs for reference.  We have the experience of moving to new home before, though all of us shared the same idea except mother, finally, her idea turned up as she is our MOTHER.
