Dog Adoption

在寵物博覽會時，大家可能都會留意得到我們攤位內，有一頭很乖的金毛尋回犬在等家。這頭金毛尋回犬名叫「仔仔」，是我們的一位義工在港島區所拯救的，以是仔仔的辛酸故事。

For those who have been the PetExpo, you might have noticed a very nice Golden Retriever among our dogs waiting for a home. His name is Tsai-tsai (meaning boy-boy). Tsai-tsai was rescued by one of our volunteers on HK island and here is his story.

仔仔的第一個主人要搬家，家中的一切一切也緊記帶走，但......養了多年的金毛尋回犬卻願不帶走......！只是隨手將“仔仔”“送”給他人。

接手仔仔的主人，對養狗的認識非常有限。從他給仔仔的食物便已知得一清二楚，每日多餐全是食從超市買回來的罐頭，只是罐頭...沒有其他，很快仔仔的腸胃便出事了！肚痾......甚至屙水！新主人沒有帶仔仔去睇醫生的意識，只是覺得仔仔不好照顧，很多問題......；所以仔仔再次被遺棄！

Tsai-tsai was first abandoned by his first owner when he moved to a new place. He urged the movers to pack and move everything but he didn’t plan to tak Tsai-tsai with him. He just give Tsai-tsai away to anyone handy.

The one who took over Tsai-tsai didn’t know much about caring for a dog. All Tsai-tsai had was canned food from the supermarket and nothing else. Soon Tsai-tsai started to have troubled tummy and suffered from serious diarrhoea. The new owner had no intention of bringing Tsai-tsai to the vet and only felt that Tsai-tsai was too difficult to take care of.. .. this Tsai-tsai was abandoned again.

在這時，唯一不幸之中的大幸，區內有一位照顧流浪貓的女士，知道仔仔的情況後，找到一個婆婆幫忙借個地方，在一個臨時搭建的後巷鐵皮屋可以暫且安身，可是落大雨時及因風向吹個正著的關係，仔仔可以坐或睡的整個地方也全會被雨水浸著！

Luckily, a kind lady in the neighbourhood found Tsai-tsai a temporarily home in a shed in the back-alley. This shed belonged to an old lady, but whenever there is heavy rain, this place would be all vet and Tsai-tsai will have to sit or lie down in the puddles.

輾轉之下，我們的義工才知道，原來借地方收留仔仔的婆婆，便是仔仔第一手主人的外婆。婆婆一直都不讓仔仔入屋，一來是婆婆對動物毛敏感，二來是婆婆年事已高，怕仔仔會撞跌她。義工曾向婆婆提出，請她放棄仔仔，好讓義工為仔仔找一個好好照顧牠的家。可是婆婆卻一直推說，他另外一位外孫會帶走仔仔。直到有一天，天文台發出了黃色暴雨警告，婆婆才肯讓義工把仔仔帶走。而她的所謂外孫亦一直沒有再與義工聯絡。

Someone, our volunteer got to know that the old lady who owned the shed was the grandmother of Tsai-tsai’s first owner. Grandmother never let Tsai-tsai back into her own home because she was allergic to dog hair and also because she was in her 80s, she was afraid that she might got knocked down by Tsai-tsai. However, grandmother turned down our volunteer’s several requests to rehome Tsai-tsai. She said her other grand-children wanted to keep Tsai-tsai. Until one day when the yellow rainstorm warning was hoisted, did grandmother agreed to let our volunteer take Tsai-tsai home. And our volunteeer never heard from the grandchildren she said that wanted Tsai-tsai.
