Well, don't get me wrong... I'm all for retouching. I have been working with digital post-process since its early days, and I thought, no one needs good photography shooting skill any more, when you can actually do wonders with the software. After a while, I was really losing myself in all the digital high tech imaging process stuffs and kept spending more and more time with the computer than with the camera. I can actually shoot crappy pics, and give me some time, I can fix it afterward into something moody or whatever - that looks like I have done that in purpose (not!). That habit can really hurt your shooting. Nowadays, I'm back to improve my shooting skills and lighting techniques and cutting my post-process time significantly. This makes a lot more business sense (i.e., you can done with pictures quicker in less time - the faster you get the work to your client's hand, the sooner u get the final pay cheque, and get on with the next job).

Just that in the mid of all these, make sure you don't lose your purpose - the documentary part of the equation. It is afterall, one (if not the biggest one) of the reasons why they hire you at the first place. You can retouch all you want; just don't lose your identity.

如果係婚宴攝影，我prefer無retouch會好d ~

原汁原味將當日既氣氛保留，真係ming sir果句..[真實而恆久]!!

咁首要條件梗係攝影師可以做到喇~

但一個婚宴有咁多突發情況，有d環境/情況好難能可貴既話..執小小又何況呢?

不過最小我諗都要keep住張相既真實性/紀念性掛...

最重要...如果個攝影師係影得靚既...仲邊駛用咁多時間retouch先?

(所以...我要努力努力~~)

有時當re-touch相片時,

我覺得原相好D。

我會選原相！

位於中立來看，後製跟原相都係應該要有的一定的技巧才能做得好，若果要輪記實就沒有甚麼可言！

但若果要評兩張相感覺，都是原相會比較好，因為後製出來效果不算得吸引，反而令原相更多出眾。

我覺得如果純粹以紀實角度黎睇, 就唔應該執太多, 加野減野就更加唔好, 因為會冇左紀實既原意...

如果從攝影作品角度黎睇, 執相可以幫助攝影者更清楚容易表達攝影者當時想表達既畫面同意念~ 大執既就成為攝影創作~

從(婚禮)攝影師角度黎睇, 因為可能需要迎合顧客既喜好, 執相與否就要睇顧客的口味了~! 少執有時都可以彌補影相時既失誤(或環境所限), 為顧客留下重要既moments~ 當然大前題係要緊記呢個只係必要時既事後補救辦法, 攝影師本身既技巧, 經驗同拍攝前既準備先係最重要~[努力中......] 如果影時唔思考,只係抱住事後可以執既心態黎影, 咁就好似濫用左執相了...

我自已覺得兩張都咁靚，hehe，如果我自已會執好的會save as去另一個folder，咁個客就有得揀

As a customer, i'd also prefer the processed one

As a customer, I'd preferred the post-process one.

As a photographer, I'd preferred the original tone.

If I have the say, I'd kept the original tone (well, maybe a slight contrast adj.) and have the bg perspective correct similar to the top photo - at least have that pole on top of that girl's head remove. Bring back more shadow detail at the bg, and be done with it.

My priority is to have the client seeing the picture and to believe that no post-process have been done~ (...yeah, right...)

喜歡你的作品, 因為夠original!! 不過當然想兩張都要晒啦...hehe

其實Ming sir 我喜歡原相 , 不過 crop位就鏡意第一張. 我想問色彩可以用while blance 調整呢 ? 不過好小弟有點唏噓之感..

難道只有執完相D相才美嗎? 為何個個都愛這樣執那樣呢? 我自己本來執相是為了彌補數碼的缺憾 , 比如說唔SHARP之類. 但眼見市場上個個都執到很利害. 我都想問我們作為攝影學生可以如何取決呢?

(我這樣問好像反問了你. 不好意思. 因為MING SIR的問題好像留有餘地 , 我估你會有答案給大家.)
