Last September I was offered a post in Baptist University. I declined it due to my trip to Korea. Well before the offer, I'd already planned to come over to attend Ai's wedding and visit friends and thus was rather reluctant to cancel the trip. More exactly, at that time, I didn't really want to take up any job. One word, too lazy! Sorry to Victor, who's trying to 'give' me the job.
Last night, Victor called. I was about to scold him for calling me long distance. (He doesn't know that I'm in Korea, actually.) Before I could do so, he told me I was needed. Urgently needed! A post in Baptist University is opened. The post is in urgent need of a lecturer and it has to be filled on November 1st. (I guess someone suddenly 'ran away' and thus the post was left vacant.
"Such a big toad hopping in the street? (咁大隻蟾蜍隨街跳?)" I thought to myself. That's too good a news to be true.
"November 1st? I can't. I won't be back to Hong Kong until the 9th. If the University can wait for me until 9th, I'll take up the job," I told Victor on the phone.
Do you think BU will wait for me? I don't think so. Ay! Jobs always come at the wrong time. Bad timing, I conclude. Guess God is hinting me not to take up any jobs. Fine! I'll take His advice and go on my 'land surveying' life.
P.S.
My Hong Kong friend has come and another friend will come next Monday. More still, my brother and my sister-in-law will join the Korean wind next Saturday. Guess I need to spare more time for playtime. See! How can I find time for work?

How can you be so sure BU is waiting for me. Don't want to disappoint you but can't lie. BU won't wait for this lazy bone. How can a course start without a lecturer? From November 2nd to November 9th, who's taking the class? I deserve a "NO" from them.
How was your trip? It was a pity we couldn't meet. But I'm sure you'd a wonderful time here. Thanks for your help. See you when I'm back home.
