When I arrived at Saigon's international airport yesterday, I changed some money at a bank's counter. The best exchange rate was USD 1 = VND 17850. It was similar to the rates offered by banks inside the city. Then I took a bus(#152) just outside the international terminal. The cost was VND 3000, and another VND 3000 for my luggage.
I pointed the street name "Pham Ngu Lao" to the operator, and he nodded his head. When the bus arrived at Cho Ben Thanh, the operator reminded me to get off the bus. But I should have got off at the previous stop! There is one bus stop at Pham Ngu Lao(Street), just opposite to the Liberty 3 Hotel. The bus going to the international airport (certainly #152) doesn't stop along this road, but at the Le Lai Street(? or somewhere near to it), that is at the other end of the park. You can just wait at a bus stop. Though the number of 152 is not stated at the bus stop, you can just raise your hand, and the bus #152 will let you get on the bus. You may wait for about 25 minutes.
Now I am using the internet service of the Rex Hotel, Saigon(now called Ho Chi Minh City) of Vietnam. It is free!! Thanks to Rex Hotel, one of the most famous 5-star hotels in this city.
Last time I visited Saigon was in December, 1997. At that time, I ate too much banana, and therefore vomitted!!
Today I visited the Ho Chi Minh City Museum. Many newly married couples took photos there. Then I went to see the Notre Dame Church(closed!) and the Central Post Office(just next door).
