I did not find the info of steering & rigging of Chinese junk over Internet yet. But I worked on Huan for 3 yrs, had sailed once without motoring from channel between Green Island & Western District to entry of Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter in downwind because the propellor was jammed by rubbish of big floating rope. As I knew the sailing theory of Chinese junk was similar the same as Western sailing. Mainly the rigging structure & the terms of different parts were different. I did not find a related book yet.
There were several models of Chinese Junks were made in Fishery & Agricultural Department under the info from the traditional ship-builders. You might get the related info from them. If you got it, pls let me know.
I believed you are a young man, isn't it? I appreciated that you interested in Chinese junk much.
By the way, I had scanned 3 articles of Chinese Junks in Hong Kong; pls provided yr e-mail to me, I will send them to you.

Thanks, Chris. I've taken a glance of your blog with many articles on Huan. As I've limited time online, would you do me a favor to name a few with info on steering and rigging of Chinese junk?
Sometimes, when I practice kayaking at Sai Kung, I come across Huan at Kau Sai Wan ...
After many correspondences and phone conversations with the organiser/customer, the date of the event had finally arrived. The organiser and her crew had found it more convenien...
