For our 2009/06/27 show at the City Hall, thank God that we had Gear Workshop as provider of stage/audio engineering.
This is the famous Korg Triton keyboard, despite its 10 years of age, it is still a workhorse for many professionals. You have to see one of these in every studio and on every stage. It makes me wonder how many famous keyboardists have played this before?
And my keyboard was the Roland RD-700SX stage piano. Both of these were also used a lot by SOP.
Our keyboard players come from a pianist background, so there's a lot of coaching to be done.
Our band members were absolutely delighted to be introduced to the Aviom monitoring system. For the first time, we could 'hear ourselves' so clearly and comfortably. The Aviom system turns every audio channel to digital and distributes the channels in a single Ethernet cable. Each one of us has a personal mixer and can adjust our monitor mix as the show went on.
The basic setup of A-Net audio networking is about USD$4,000 for the central hub, and about USD$700 for each monitoring station.
For live sound mixing, GEAR deployed the Yamaha M7CL mixer. As there were 6 teams performing for the show, this powerful mixer was great for remembering the mixing settings for each song item. The mixer has a great number of channels and busses. For TBM, each vocalist is hearing a unique mix, which is the house mix plus a bigger proportion of their own voice, through their wireless in-ear monitors. Such quality gear comes with a USD$25k price tag.

I'm one of the keyboardist to use Korg Triton. Sounds fantastic on stage even no soft sample is used. Of course, due to the convenience of usage, Korg has become one of the hottest keyboard in this decade. Great if you can use it.
Also, I really fall in love in Roland RD-700GX. It is a great keyboard with hammer action. Great if you are going to play the piano.
