An interesting label, and I found that the bottle was quite heavy.
"In 2002 Didier Dagueneau embarked on his journey to produce sweet wine. He sought out an area that in his opinion, was not fully realizing it potential, and landed in Babylone at the foot of the Pyrenees south of Pau. Here, just outside of the village of Aubertin, he found a few hectares located in a natural ampitheatre facing a spectacular panorama of mountains. The vines were in good shape and it took only minor changes in the vineyards for Dagueneau and the Petit Manseng varietal to adapt to one another. Dagueneau's approach is to produce wines that bring out the natural minerality of the soil and have, above all else, balance, harmony, and longevity. 2004 was a great vintage for sweet wine in Jurancon, and Didier's inaugural vintage exemplifies this beautifully. Rich apricot and peach notes are in evidence here, with nuances of caramel and citrus fruits. Amazing viscosity is supported by vibrant acidity too. This historic first release from Didier Dagueneau will most certainly be a wine for the ages! "
