English Only

看來上層有意Revise employee handbook.

他們加了一段:

Our interaction with co-workers should also always be polite and courteous.  Whereas the Members of the Club speak English, all communication with co-workers in member areas including interior and exterior areas of the building should be in English only.

這裏的員工, 85% 說 Spanish, 另5% 說其他語言, 白人只佔少數. 雖然我明白在美國地方工作應說英語, 但當我第一眼看見這段文字, 第一個反應是 "Discrimination!!"

其實, 用人家的母語去溝通是比較有效率. 很多員工要推敲一輪才可以用英語回答或問問題. 這不是費時失事嗎?
