One of the joys of travelling is to look at signs in another language and try to guess the meaning. My favourite signs are the bilingual ones with pictures. This sign which can be seen on the streets of Matsumoto is self explanatory.

I also liked these signs with maps at street corners. The maps were not very accurate but they gave me a rough idea of where I was.

This sign in the Alps Park apparently warned dog owners not to let their dogs loose in the park. I wasn't quite sure what the Chinese character "feeding" meant in all this.

Another sign in the Alps Park seemed to indicate some people left their dogs in the park and forgot (?) to take them home. That was what I thought, anyway.
Luckily, my friend May Lam corrected me and told me this sign was there to remind dog owners not to let their dogs foul the place. I do not think Japanese dog owners need reminding. They are all noble people and they care about their countryside. They all try their best to keep the place in a pristine condition.

These signs were found in the female toilet on the observation floor of the Yebisu Garden Place in Ebisu. It seems that both Hong Kongers and Japanese people have to be reminded to wash their hands after going to the toilet!!! How stupid do our governments think we are?

日本的指示牌都很卡通化, 很可愛.
第四張相, 意即"要執走寵物的屎". 其實大部份大都很自律呢!
