I won't be surprised to see Kitco is under increasing order for precious metals. As you know Kitco is a major precious metals traders in the world, imagine gold price suddenly plunged from $960 to $780 in 3 weeks' time, some physical bullion merchants will of course increase their orders!!
another bad guy: Chakib Khelil, OPEC President. he had been talking up oil price and revising his target prices to $80, $100, $150, $170 and $200 from early 2007 to July 2008. on 28-July-2008 he suddenly lowered his forecast of oil price to $70 which he claimed is the long term fair value of oil price.
the bad guy jim rogers again. i remember jim rogers said similar oil bullish thing in June/July 2006. oil was down terribly from his talking till early 2007. i also remember jim rogers was bearish on gold in May to Aug 2007. gold was up terribly to $1030 after his talking till march 2008.
This is the reason I don't like Jim Rogers!! This so-call commodity expert has no clue what will be the price trend in the next 3-6 months!! And his prediction has caused a lot of retail investors losing on buying commodity funds!!! Thanks for telling me his bad past track record...

True, gold is a anti-proxy for USD!! That is, gold's value is indeed hedged against the falling of USD.
But if you have listened to my view, the rally of gold is basically due to the increase of gold in PBOC, Russian Central Bank's FX reserves!! If I am wrong, PBOC and Russian do not come out to increase gold inside their FX reserves, then gold will be in deep trouble!! So USD and gold may not go in differnt direction all the time! You will notice that when it happens...
