人生的七個階段

我們的輔助課程「英語聽力會話培訓高中班」將會在2009年2月20日(星期五)文化日的早上表演英國著名作家威廉．莎士比亞(William Shakespeare，1564 - 1616)的著名喜劇《皆大歡喜》(英語名稱：As You Like It)中的《人生的七個階段》(英語名稱：The Seven Ages of Man 或者 Jacques Seven Ages of Man)。以下是《人生的七個階段》的原文和文章大意：

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.

At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms;
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school.

And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow.

Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths, and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth.

And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lin'd,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part.

The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slippered pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side;
His youthful hose, well sav'd, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion;
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything."

文章大意：

全世界是一個舞台，所有的男男女女不過是一些演員；他們都有下場的時候，也都有上場的時候。 一個人的一生中扮演著好幾個角色， 他的表演可以分為七個時期。

最初是嬰孩，在保姆的懷中啼哭嘔吐。然後是背著書包、滿臉紅光的學童，像蝸牛一樣慢騰騰地拖著腳步，不情願地嗚咽著上學堂。

然後是情人，像爐灶一樣歎著氣，寫了一首悲哀的詩歌詠著他戀人的眉毛。

然後是一個軍人，滿口發著古怪的誓，鬍鬚長得像豹子一樣，愛惜著名譽，動不動就要打架，在炮口上尋求著泡沫一樣的榮名。

然後是法官，胖胖圓圓的肚子塞滿了閹雞，凜然的眼光，整潔的鬍鬚，滿嘴都是格言和老生常談； 他這樣扮了他的一個角色。

第六個時期變成了精瘦的趿著拖鞋的龍鍾老叟，鼻子戴著眼鏡，腰邊懸掛著錢袋；他那年輕時候節省下來的長襪子套在他皺癟(癟音別)的小腿上顯得寬大異常；他那朗朗的男子的口音又變成了孩子似的尖聲，像是吹著風笛和哨子。終結著這段古怪的多事的歷史的最後一場，是孩提時代的再現，全然的遺忘，沒有牙齒，沒有眼睛，沒有口味，沒有一切。

在這幾課裏(即2009年2月2日至2月9日)，我們的導師羅知靈導師(Miss Lo)不斷地叫我們練習，在人員分配中，"All the world's a stage,至His acts being seven ages."是由全部同學集誦；"At first the infant,至Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms;"是由前排的女生集誦；"And then the whining school-boy, 至Unwillingly to school."是由全部的女生集誦；"And then the lover,至Made to his mistress' eyebrow."是由就讀高一愛班的(SC1D)的歐陽子杰獨誦；"Then a soldier,至Even in the cannon's mouth."本來是由全部的男生集誦，後來變成由我來獨誦；"And then the justice,至And so he plays his part. "是由就讀高二誠班的(SC2E)的宣然獨誦；"The sixth age shifts,至sans everything." "是由全部同學集誦，以下的黃色部分是我所朗誦的部分，在2009年2月16日的時候，我們的輔助課程到了多功能廳正在為表演綵排排位的位置，我校輔助課程主管黃振傑先生說在表演當天的下午4點30分第二場表演的順序第三個就是我們的表演，但是我有點不明白。

我每次練習中，我看得懂這些國際音標，我一定會準確地發好每一個單詞的讀音，例如：後綴的"-ts是[t͡s]，ds"是[d͡z]，文章中的"oaths"是[əʊðz]。

我覺得這首詩歌的部分內容很像我喜歡的歌曲是由香港歌手張學友與台灣歌手高慧君合唱的《你最珍貴》一樣，請你們/您們聽著這首歌，看看像不像這首詩的內容一樣，以下是《你最珍貴》的歌詞：
