我 想問下咩叫做 Burned to a crisp 同埋咩叫做 bloody as hell, 我識既用法只有 rare, medium rare, medium well, well done........究竟 burned to crisp 同 bloody as hell 常唔常用架?

I found online the screen play and it reads like the below:-
            VINCENT
    I'll have the Douglas Sirk steak.

            BUDDY
    How d'ya want it, burnt to a crisp, 
    or bloody as hell?

            VINCENT
    Bloody as hell. And to drink, a 
    vanilla coke.

Quentin Tarantino is an accomplished writer director and his characters are anything but ordinary.  And they don't talk like your average Joe.  If you want to sound cool or like Travolta's Vincent cool, then you can try to order steak like so.  But for mere mortals I advise you to stick with "well done" or "rare."

"burnt to a crisp" just means well done.  Most steak houses use flame broiler to cook the steak in radiant heat.  The outer shell of a steak can have a crispy crust.

"bloody as hell" just means rare; when the steak is cut, it's like blood letting.  Though a rare steak can still have a crispy crust if it's cooked in high heat and fast enough.

Theres not much difference between american and british english. Mainly their accents. if u know british english then u will also know american english. thats how they can understand each other
