其實學英文有什麼好的方法 ??

你好, 我剛買了一本電影對白的書(內附cd 的) , 本書有中英文對照的..

我相信看着本書, 一路聽對白 , 同看電影學英語一樣.

但我聽了很久都聽唔到. 你有沒有什麼其他的建議啊 ??

其實我一向也很喜歡看美劇的, 但就是沒怎麼感覺自己英文有進步...原來是要這樣學呀......

上網看 ATV news 學英文是個很好的方法。

可以暫停或重播，邊聽邊抄，英文也簡單易明

when i watch movie,me duno what they say....so can teach me how to make my english good...because my english is very noob..my friends always say me stupid..thank

一個傻佬，對著電視，一手執遙控，一手拿字典，邊看邊按停，還拿著字典死翻爛翻的，口中念念有詞，模仿劇中演員對話。

我e家都係好似以前既你..一路睇戲一路拎住個字典機來查..
不過咁樣好似唔係學英文既好方法...

siu sir, minimal 同little 是否一樣意思, 好小?! 應該點用呀?

我都好鍾意睇外語片學英文但很多時都只顧住睇字幕唔可以好深入咁欣賞...有時都會記住D生字...不過好多SLANG都查唔到....

help me !! please!!  Now, in my twenties, I still find my english level like a primary student. (mostly poor time-management and absent- minded) Could u gimme some advice?

其實我的英文在寫方面係絕對沒有問題的,但是最差就是在考試時同老師對話,根本諗唔到野,講唔到野,說話差,同迷聆聽都唔算太好,一太快我就會跟唔上的了,所以我決定由08年開始一定要努力學習呢兩樣,但我想問下可以在邊一到睇一d英文劇場和movie,之前我還有有線電視時就可以睇BBC外國新聞同外國MOVIE,但依家唔可以了,停左了,所以我希望用其他方法可以學得更好,可不可以告訴我????

When I was a Secondary student, I read a story everyday without dictionary.  I think it's better to guess the meanings of new words.

When I first watched English TV programmes, I chose cartoons.  Then I watched sitcoms with subtitles because the stories were usually very funny and you could learn the accents and spoken English.  Now I don't need subtitle anymore.

電視同電影經常會出現一啲好生活化既英語，响書本係唔會學得到。仲有就係可以聽下外國人既口音學發音。

我都好鍾意用sitcom學英文..又學到D slang,又可以學D生活用對話. 有好多聼得明係咩意思,但係要由自己把口講出來又係另1回事了~

我以前仲download埋D mp3晚晚聼..聼一排之後聽力好D之餘,仲學埋D intonation..進步會真係好大..

雖然一直也有這個打算去看 Movie 學英文..
但就是提不起勁去做..感激你的 ４點提醒..

小弟有平時上網dl 日劇, 美劇的習慣. 因為速度快嘛~~等TVB買返0黎到蚊訓啦, Desperate Housewifes, Prison Break, Lost, Heroes等都是我的至愛^0^除左中文字幕外, 又有英文字幕(TVB冇英文字幕的...). 而且內地的網友更會把劇本整理, 加以解釋, 對學習都好有幫助. 其實齋讀唔識聽, 齋聽唔識讀都係冇用的, 一定要兩樣一齊先得.

睇過內地網友的一些意見, 話睇一套英文劇重覆翻看廿幾三十次係好正常的事, 因為就係要經過咁多次先可以加深對聲音和文字(字幕)印象. 當然, 也要好好查字典, 明白意思解釋, 不然, 唔明個意思, 睇百幾二百次都唔會識.

內地有唔少的美劇字幕組都有英文字幕下載, 我就睇開lee 個字幕組, 大家不妨去睇下丫:

P.S.很羡慕美劇有英文字幕, 但日劇卻沒有日文字幕............>_<

 

DVD既英語字幕主要係俾聽障人士睇, 好多時只係有主要內容. 並非包含全部對白.

1. 一定要有英文字幕

This is a very good point. Buy some American Series DVD. Such as LOST, CSI, etc.

 

May I add a reminder:

You don't really have to check every single words that you don't know. Like reading, check only those you can't guess the meaning AND hinder your understanding. If the word is significant or is some slang that's used often, the frequent occurrence of the words can help you understand the meaning without using a dictionary. In fact, it's much better to learn how to use the new words with real sample sentences.

If you have 'finish syndrome' like I do, you can just jot down words you don't know and check them after the show. Then watch the show again. Some transcripts are available on the Internet (e.g. movie -- The Incredibles).

You can buy DVDs from HMV with English subtitles for people with hearing problems. They have words for all kinds of sounds. Monk is my favourite. He is a detective with serious OCD and all kinds of phobia.

i learn english through watching tv program and reading news.  maybe, their grammar is not perfect. speak loudly when reading. maybe, find some help.

But how far can this get us and when do we know is the time that we can stop and enjoy the movies and dramas like native speakers?

I have another question that's less related to this thread.
According to many dictionaries, "thousand" is supposed to have an unvoiced "th" sound but, strangely, it seems to me many native speakers pronounce it like a voiced one? Have I just heard it wrong?

Mr.Siu , I echo your sentiment! It is effective for me to watch film with English subtitle and pause very often checking the words and sentences I don't understand.

I hope those who find pausing the film often boring will realize the importance of learning English.

Siu Sir，很感謝你的分享，我以前也常看英文台，聽英文歌學英文的！我覺得是很有效的方法。語言最重模仿，所以一定要自己再讀，或學著外國人的說腔讀。

我到美國旅行的時候，第一晚看電視節目，只能聽得三成，因為美國口音和我自己學的英國口音有別，到第三晚，我已經聽得八成了，所以聽得多一定會有幫助呢！

Where can I buy an idiom dictionary? Could you please tell us more about it? My English really sucks! Once when I watched an episode of Hotel Babylon, without any subtitles, I found I can only understand the plot but not what they were actually saying! I think I probably understood around 40%! I hate learning English! Why am I not a Brit when I was born?
