每年都有數千人一直在CPP面試中被淘汰,故事一直循環著,今年結局可能更慘烈。失敗者有大部份選擇放棄,有些會自修或報讀課程裝備自己然後一年後再戰,有些經濟許可的會付錢考牌...除了以上三個選擇,是否別無出路? 非也非也,還有一個不錯的選擇,就是到魚翅公司做!! 至於做什麼當然是閣下的選擇,空服、I.T.、文職...只要是長工做夠一年公司就會給員工機會報考cadet pilot,並且以內部轉職的身份報考,必定有其優勢,而成功者更能以無薪假期保住原先職位直至成功受訓回來。詳細如下(節錄於魚翅內聯網,一般人未必有看過) :

CADET PILOT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

Overview
CX staff with a passion for flying have an opportunity to forge a career as a commercial pilot. The Cadet Pilot Scholarship offers a limited number of scholarships each year to staff who have demonstrated a clear commitment to flying, but have not been able to take their interest to a professional level.

The scholarship augments the Cadet Pilot Programme and as with the Cadet Pilot Programme, successful scholarship applicants are required to attend the training course at Flight Training Adelaide in Australia.

Staff enrolled onto the scholarship programme may apply for unpaid leave during the training period. If they successfully apply for a Second Officer position at the end of the training period, staff are required to resign their current position and then rejoin the Company.
 
Requirements
This scholarship is open to all permanent employees of Cathay Pacific Airways with at least one year experience in current position. We are looking for staff members who are able to demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career in aviation.

Age between 18 - 32, experience must be commensurate with age  
Minimum height 1.60 meters  
Good physical condition including eye sight  
Excellent command of English  
Minimum educational standard 
5 passes in HKCEE/O-level including Physics and Mathematics, together with 2 passes in HKALE/A-level (science subjects preferred) or equivalent educational standard obtained overseas; or Degree/Diploma in any discipline 

Selection Process
Selection takes place in Hong Kong and includes aptitude tests, interviews, medical, group exercises, job knowledge test, and flying test.

Outport staff are expected to travel to interviews at their own expense. Arrangements (including leave, tickets, accommodation) must be made by the staff members. Travel for the Flying Test will be considered duty travel by the Company. Flight Crew Recruitment will be responsible for ticket arrangements and accommodation for the selection period in Adelaide, Australia.

An applicant's direct appraiser will be notified if the staff is being short-listed for interview.
 

驟眼看是否覺得跟普通CPP selection沒什麼分別?? 似乎沒什麼著數吧。沒錯,入職的最低要求及考核過程沒有分別,但著數卻是多得很:

- 普通申請人只能以網上表格形式申請,相反如果是經內部調職的話申請人須以硬件形式寫信給有關部門,並於信封內附上申請信、CV、於公司的工作經驗等等...因此這些申請者一開始經已被HR highlight了。如果那一年的表現好,還可以找上司寫張靚仔推薦信。

- 就小弟所知,魚翅每年都有數個cadet位置留給這些「公司人」,雖然沒有官方證明,但觀察所得卻是大有這些人被選出來。如果小弟推斷正確,內部申請者大多只是跟自己人鬥,而不須完全跟數千個外人競爭,須則如此,如果報考者水平太低公司也可以全部不要。

- 為公司服務過一年以上是一個對航空業重要的熱誠表現,不但留給HR重要印象,一年的實戰經歷更能豐富面試時的內容。空談自己過去一年的進步,又怎比得上切切實實幫公司打工? 更懂走捷徑的什至能搞好人事關係為自己「搭路」。

- 與其比錢去上course,何不邊賺錢邊在航空公司學東西? 賺到個錢儲起來放假時可以學飛,工作於娛樂也。

因此學歷低沒錢沒經驗不等於沒出路,條條大路通羅馬,小弟認為這條絕不會是冤枉路,至於能否成為航空公司一份子就得看閣下的能耐了。

    保證你畢業後要俾成十幾萬俾學會+一堆雜費

    所以畢業後月薪係9000-11000

    除非無出路,如果唔係都唔好搵佢

    I am new to your site !!!
    I appreciated for what you have done for people who wants to be a pilot. haha =P
    Btw, after reading your blog I finally realized that we have to prepare so much for the CPP interview..that really upset me since I have very limited knowledge in aviation.! And the thing is I have already applied for the CPP (but haven't received any call from CX)...I was thinking how can I possibly pass all the stages if I can have a chance to do my first interview ?!

    Btw, after reading your blog I finally realized that we have to prepare so much for the CPP interview..that really upset me since I have very limited knowledge in aviation.! And the thing is I have already applied for the CPP (but haven't received any call from CX)...I was thinking how can I possibly pass all the stages if I can have chance to do my first interview ?!

    睇完你呢篇BLOG,解開O左我既疑惑。我一直都估有內部轉職既回事,而唔多唔少都會有D優勢。
    不過唔知原來真係有QUOTA俾公司人~咁都真係一條唔錯既後路BOR.

    因為唔少人都好都唔止APPLY一次。第一次盲中中,準備唔夠就失敗,之後用唔同方法去IMPROVE自己再APPLY。但如果再失敗就再冇機會了。因為一般得2次機會....

    咁入CX做就可以再APPLY~都已經好好啦

    不過講返我自己,如果考完PPL再APPLY都FAIL.....都唔知點好。唔知入CX做好定係返大陸做好。
    因為本身有諗過索性做大陸AIRLINE既PILOT,因為有朋友正透過"神州飛行XX"既計畫做大陸PILOT。APPLY O左冇耐,就快BODY CHECK,下個月去美國TRAINING咁話。唔知呢間公司有冇厄人呢?都要睇睇佢既最後係咪真仲入到AIRLINE做先決定。

    如果cx keep比staff既位太多跟本就冇必要全球性請人,全部係公司請就ok。但無奈地外間有更多周身刀張張利的人,如果公司預留太多位置比自己友只會浪費收錄優質機師的機會,更何況冇人保證staff可以飛得好,如果飛得差只會係浪費金錢同資源。

    再如下面所說,//始終呢個唔係捷徑,而係面試失敗左既人的一條後路。如果後路比正路更闊未免有點太過。//

    unfortunately cx cease recruiting cabin crew lo. oh and you mentioned "魚翅每年都有數個cadet位置留給這些「公司人」" yes, there is a special scholarship scheme for staff, but it's only two quota per year...

    如果一年有兩個位算是不錯了,始終呢個唔係捷徑,而係面試失敗左既人的一條後路。如果後路比正路更闊未免有點太過。

    cx停左請cabin crew豈不是更好? 佢愈請得少人代表入左cx之後報考cadet面對的競爭愈細,其實係件幸運事。如果突然請多一千個cabin crew而入面有500個想報就變成多左500個對手...

    cx依家仲有d部門有請人,要入就靠個人能耐了@@
