What a lovely English sunshine and freshy spring wind!

I am here in England again. I had been expecting this comeback since i left there last October. After five months of all sorts of emotional ups and downs and going through the self-learning and self-discovering process that makes me stronger, i am back! I promise to myself, this should be a happy trip, i come happily, and i should go back HK happily too, no matter what i face during these 18 days.

In the first day, i stayed in London, in my best friend Wendy's house. God really made me come in right time because I showed up when my dear friend was in need. Wendy just had a surgery that day. After putting down my luggage, i went straight to the hospital. Seeing her bleeding and very weak on the bed, i felt so bad. But i held up my tears. She couldn't speak, eat and move. I can't help anything, just keep praying for her. It's really a right timing that i can be here to give her support. Wendy loves me so much. She prepared everything for my comeback before going to the surgery. She made me a nice and tidy room, prepared soup, food.......everything to make sure i stay well in her house. She said since she needed to be in hospital, she couldnt take good care of me.....oh dear, dont say that, your love means everything.

Thanks God for giving her strength. She is recovering now.

In the second day, i went to the Cambridge Uni for an academic conference about translation and literature. This was a sunshine day. I was very upbeat. I took many snapshots and walked around the city, enjoying the poetic atmosphere. So nice to be back to campus setting, being in a lecture, with professors and students surround by. Many new and interesting ideas come up in the conference, but the last professor was really boring. He talked non-stop with a paper on hand for nearly 2 hours!! Oh my goodness! @__@

In the third day, i visited Wendy again before i left for Birmingham. She was much better, could talk and eat. I took a great relief. I can leave her for a while. Then, i rushed to catch the train to Birmingham. But, London tube is CRAP!! How come the whole Victoria Line stopped service on Saturday??? The underground was cramped with people. I couldnt move at all with the huge luggage. Completely STUCK! Luckily, two handsome guys helped me out, carrying my luggage and led me pass the stairs ^o^. I still missed the train. The controllers didn't let me in. I had to buy another ticket for the next train. 20 pounds!!! >...<

On the way in train, i sent messages to my Bham friends that i am arriving. (got some replies, but got no feedback from the guy i wanna see.)

Birmingham is the same. Nothing changed (including the stinky smell in the train station). I headed straight to Harborne. Happy to see Vanli again. Wow, she made a new tidy room for me. Last year, i left all my beddings in her house. This time, she prepared me a bed with all my familiar beddings on, my pillows, my bed sheets, my slippers....everything is just homely for me.

After a super delicious dinner and happy update gossiping with Vanli, i texted him. No response. I rang him. No answered. Feeling a bit upset, i decided not to bother him anymore. I fell asleep at 10pm. At 12 midnight, got his phone call. I was still in sleepy mode. He didn't know he was calling me, until i said, ''hey, it's Suki here!". I was 'high' to hear his voice again. But in just one minute, i was pushed to the lowest point. He told me he was on the way leaving Bham to Poland. For a whole week!!!!!! >`~ < What????! I went through all the way along to come over to see you and now i am here and you said u left?? I am very disappointed......you left me message that you are looking forward to seeing me just yesterday. But why we are again in distance? You know how much i want to see you? I come, you go....always mismatch in timing.

If i were the 'old' me, i would go mad and yell at you. But thanks you train me up to become more stronger. I am disappointed and upset, but just for a while. I'll bravely face you no matter what happens. You go ahead with what you plan to do and what you like. I hang in here.

This morning, i woke up early. I made a prayer for you, wishing you have a good study trip in Poland. We shall see anyway, though the days are counting down.

~ Suki in England (up to 22 March)
