I have travelled to a few cities back in the days when studying in England. Within the United kingdom, I have visited Bath, Bristol, Manchester, Swindon, Brighton, Edinburgh and Cardiff; into Europe and beyond I have been to Paris, Lyon, Roma, Milano, Barcelona, Bruxelles, Istanbul and Egypt. It might seem quite a lot to those who never travelled, but to those who do, this is only a tip of the iceberg. Out of these tourists hot spots, my favourite place has got to be Barcelona and Paris. The reason is simple, both cities have the grooviest architecture plus the night life never ends. Though I must confess that I much prefer Asian food to French and Itlalian. What I love most about Barcelona is the Park Guell which is designed and sculpted by Antoni Gaudi himself, also the Sagrada Familia is truly magical. As for Paris, the food, weather and people are already a bless comparing to London, and on top of that, Louvre and Centre Pompidou are both spectacular museums to visit. I don't dislike London, but if I really have to pick, I would rather pick some where warmer, may be it's the weather, too much rain makes Victor a dull boy.
When I finished university, the first thing I wanted to do is to travel, sadly I got some showbiz to do (heh) so most vacation plans went down the drain. But during my days working across China , Hong Kong and Taiwan , I still managed to squeeze time for places like Singapore , Kuala Lumpur , Ipoh , Johor Bahru, Malacca, Seoul , Bangkok , Jakarta , Sydney , Melbourne , Tokyo , Okinawa , etc. Those were the good old days, strolling along the beaches. Lately I went to Okinawa and had a great experience scuba diving, I think anyone should experience the under water world at least once in their life time. But there is only one place other than Hong Kong where I can consider as my home, the Shanghai city. May be that’s because my family came from Shanghai , or at least within the province. I do feel a sense of belonging when ever I visit the city, sometimes in a good way sometimes not. Given the amount of time I spent there promoting and filming, I was seriously thinking of buying property there couple to three years ago. Imagine if I did, I should be loaded by now, since the Shanghai property sky rocked just in recent years. Other than family roots, I guess it’s the food, the French-alike accent, the multi-national background, the Huang Pu Jiang scenery and the crazy sizzling night life. What more can I say? I even made a song out of it, look it up, it is in the Yue Huan album.
