OK, let me show all of you my 'workstation' of the radio sector.
It's all of my own radio rig here.
(Sorry for poor quality, cuz I took it with my phone cam)
To the very left, Yaesu FT-2400. Single VHF operation up to 50 watts, the most stable and rigid rig of them all.
Second one is Yaesu FT-8900R, offering quad band operation.
Third one is a mono-band, mono-mode, made-in-china radio. (Cheap cheap radio)
Finally, Yaesu VX-6R, my favourite, my love, my honey, my sweetheart.. blah blah... Just love it, multimode operation, wide band receive, 5 watt power, just what I needed!
Oh, onto equipments! Antenna! This one is an expensive one, Diamond CR8900, used with FT-8900R for quad band operation. The only problem is that, I failed in tunning down the SWR on HF bands, making operation on HF a mission impossible up to now. I'm hopping that I will get it tunned well and.. maybe sometimes later in the year, I can do some CQ DX, or CQ satellite (awkward)..
As you can see, the antenna is tilted nearly to horizontal.. Bad position and gesture for an antenna system, but afterall, it works well! Tuen Mun to RC with excellent audio.
The antenna outlooks that whole Tuen Mun area, though part of the northern Tuen Mun was shielded by the housing estate... I'd like to know how my signal gets into Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai... can any Ham helps?
Oh, the second antenna, mounted with a rubber band to the frame of windows...
I've not really tested its performance, just using it as a backup or to work with VR2UTM, which has a better reception position to the previous CR8900 antenna. Working with FT2400.

VR2UIX, It's wonderful to have seen your message here!
I was also told by other experienced HAM about adding grounding wires to lower the VSWR, but sadly, the VSWR meter I was planning to buy had sold out! (I borrowed from HAM last time)
Looking forward to hearing from you on 10meters soon!

Wow wow wow...!!!
Young man VR2VIX, this is VR2UIX replying (returning) on the internet. It's so nice to see that you have got so many good machines and antennas in your QTH. I'm looking to hearing you on 10 meters in the futhure very soon.
Yes, the quad bands carwhip is a compromised antenna. It's a bit difficult to tune right for the HF band. However, you can try to add more radials (grounding wires) to solve the high VSWR problem and improve the radiation efficiency.
