How real is our photos....

From reading of another photographer blogger's post, one probably can't help to ask, "How real is our photograph?"

Well, in one of my recent studio shoot...


This is the first shoot from the camera (converted straight from Canon raw .16-bit cr2 file to 8-bit .jpg; colour profile from ProPhoto to sRGB)

Then...

This is the 1st tune stage by LR.(started from the original raw file). Brings out more detail of the white dress, more contrast, you know, the usual stuffs...


This would be the final version.

Really, I don't think it is much too far off.

Note: Someone asked me about the colour choice of the BG... well, the final version was actually what I really have in mind - and I did have the light setup in the way so it gradually falls off to complete darkness toward the back..That backdrop you see in the original shoot is actually a gray color, and not black. If I had chosen a black backdrop, I probably can't get the brightness in front in the final version.

Also... we actually ran out of black backdrop at the time, so gray colour was our only next-best choice...
