這....就是我一個星期前買的"it".

當然, 這麽大金額的"投資", 不是一夜之間的決定
I always want a Tiffany's Tiffany classic setting.
看回一年多前的blog-
"Last but not least, my favorite setting! With Tiffany setting, you have the most number of choice (various size, color and clarity) and it's the easiest to work around your budget. I really want to buy myself one as a right hand ring."
我非常喜歡mr. cocoa bean 送的engagement ring, 但我也非常喜歡Tiffany setting.
又不是在揀老公, 鑽石戒指喜歡多多都可以 
只是, 沒有想到這一天來得這麼快.
故事.......由一輪 Mercedes 說起 
有一天和同事講開parking (underground garage), 我喜歡泊在P2 (要行遠一點, 但我覺得慳油d, things add up easily)
同事A 和同事B 都說會駛落幾層泊在P4/ P5
一來懶 (越低層越多位近電梯); 二來買了新車, 想泊遠一些, 減少碰花機會
買了新車?? 我當然要繼續追問 
同事A 買了全新的Honda Accord, 價錢比去年便宜20%!
同事B 買了二手的 2006 Mercedes C class, 平到嚇死人
價錢竟然和我當年買的二手日產一樣!!!
當時我真的想買番部 
這部Mercedes 使我想起早前在Forbes.com 看過的"Ten Things To Buy Before The Economy Improves"
看的時候也沒有特別留意, 因為大部份的東西已有, 沒有想過要換車, 又不會在美國置業
這部Mercedes 告訴我- 嘩, 原來今年買嘢真係好平!!!!
所以下一步, 我便去了Tiffany.com 
Message 我的好友, 即日放工後去Tiffany! <<發生得非常突然
進入了Tiffany 後, 我倆便開始興奮過度, 因為價錢絕對比以前便宜
兩年多前問過的價錢, 我還有記錄 (Carat, color, clarity & price), 所以我非常肯定 
大部份人都是要越買越大
但我這次想要的不是大石, 是Tiffany 圓石 (一直覺得心型石不夠閃)
我的目標是1 carat, budget 也是1 carat.....
但經過highly experienced professional super nice sales lady 的游說後....................
前前後後我去了5 次Tiffany (~5 weeks), sales lady 在database 裡找了3 粒石給我, 是從其他鋪調動過來的
其中一隻1.46 卡使我非常心動
但結果我選了最細最便宜那一隻 
星期六決定了後, 便立刻從我的Business account 用discount 訂giftcards
(不可以要求sales lady hold 太久, 所以答應了星期四會回來買<< weekdays 只有星期四收8pm, 其餘收6pm)
星期六訂, 星期四剛剛好運到, 放工後趕去pick up 包裹, 接朋友, 然後在駛去Tiffany 途中瘋狂地拆giftboxes
我在一個紅燈拆了10 個 giftboxes!! 畫面十分搞笑
然後拿着一大疊卡走進Tiffany 找數
帶回家的吉盒~
留起來遲些朋友的showers/ party 可能用得着
說到這裡......為什麼從沒有提及mr. cocoa bean 呢?

對於我這項"投資", mr. cocoa bean 當然是很不願意 
他說過, 等你有咗BB, 便送給你
但我等不了
前後的5 次Tiffany store visit, 我都是和朋友去的, 免得令mr. cocoa bean 觸景傷情
謝謝mr. cocoa bean 隻眼開隻眼閉 
雖然戒指是我買的, 但我的錢 = 我們的錢, 所以十分感激他的慷慨 
(距離置業又退後了一大步)
為了慳5% 的sales tax, mr. cocoa bean 更為我來回駛了6 個小時的車程
謝謝你的溺愛 
mr. cocoa bean 剛剛買了相機 (Used Nikon D70), 學學影相, 第一個assignment 當然是它啦!!
很喜歡這個~ (是我放上去的)
嘻嘻, 我也爭着要學呢!

(有Macro lens 就好喇!!)

Hi winkris, I'm not sure how much you know about diamond. However, every single diamond is priced differently, depending on the carat, color, clarity and cut. Therefore, the price of my ring would not help you much. If you would like to compare prices, please go to the store and ask. It's very easy to find out.

no...it's actually a little too much to wear both rings, so I'm taking turns to wear them on my left hands.

i've the silver one b4 but i dun wear silver accessories anymore. they ain't as durable as i wear the same pendant + necklace evryday, taking it off only for my bi-wkly facial session.

I friend bought the medium/ large size (not sure) a while ago, but I'm just so so with it....I don't really like it.....I think small one is cuter and younger

no la.....need to find a ring that is twice the value.....really no la....unless when passing to son/ daughter, they can pay for the upgrade on their own....

if I didnt buy this place at the first place I would also be tempted to buy myself that kind of ring too!
how did you avoided sales tax this time?

We had it send to a "Friend's" house in delaware and we picked it up from there. Delaware is the only states around here that Tiffany has no business relationship with and of course, Delaware is tax free.

OH mrs cocoa bean, U make every girl soooooo Jealous, haha!! 
But u know what, we are sooooo happy for u!! and u really demostrate how a city woman should be!! That is : always have financial independence and always know how to make ourselves happy!!! 
And for sure, buying this Tiffany Ring is a long term investment la, maybe it will increse in value after some time. I checked the price in HK before too, 1 carat, DIF, is about HKD 300000. So, u have a good deal ar!!

One of my rationalizations is that- If I don’t buy it now, there’re more reasons NOT to buy it later, for baby, house, family, health…….So I decided to spend it now and also, the utilization of the ring will be higher, assuming I can wear it for longer time period.

whenever i put forth my theory of buying this & dat b4 the economy recovers, my hubby wud ask say many financial assets r also on sale!

Discount is one of my justification for buying it now, because after I leave this job, I'll not be able to buy with discount anymore! And the Tiffany in HK is more expensive, based on my mum's experience.
They have an upgrade policy, if you want to upgrade your ring later, you need to upgrade into a ring that is twice the value of the original ring. They take the old ring as a trade in for 90% value of what you paid.

i picked a diamond slightly over 1 carat, HKD16萬幾, but the color is "I" grade! can't imagine tiffany sells such low grade stones

and I think this size is more suitable for wearing on a day to day basis, especially in HK 
hehe, you definitely understand what I'm referring to, the detail craftsmanship and the bling level...it's crazy, it blings under any kind of lighting (unlike my heart diamond, only blings under the sunlight). I'm just so happy now
. Did you take your ring to tiffany store to clean every now and then? hehe, you can take this ring to upgrade 10 years later!!
