Let's JAM Some ART!

W Studio 自開幕以來，我們一直希望把藝術和大眾聯繫，其中有兩個活動最令我享受和自豪，一是畫出感覺，二是Let’s JAM Some ART，前者透過繪畫來分享表達，從而更加認識自己和他人，後者是一個集創意、溝通與娛樂於一身的活動，大家定下一個主題後，便不只自己畫一幅畫這麼簡單，而是要定時定候與身邊的朋友交換畫布，到最後每一幅畫都會有所有人的心思意念。

每次見到參加的朋友互相快樂地交流，我也樂在其中，而我最開心見到的，是大家可以無拘無束自由自在地創作表達，有些人可能會覺得自己畫得不好，不懂得繪畫，所以與視覺藝術一直保持距離，但我發覺到當繪畫變成一個輕鬆有趣而且可以和朋友一起參與的活動時，大家彷彿把之前的包袱放開了，盡情地用不同的色彩令畫布添上生氣和意義，無論是喜歡寫實、抽象或是其他風格的，來到Let’s JAM Some ART，都要和好友JAM一JAM，務求令到每幅畫都會有不同的火花和元素，然而大家帶回家的，不再只是一幅畫，而是一段回憶、一個心靈放鬆後的自己。

Since the day we opened W Studio, we have always wanted to connect art with the general public.  There are two activities I especially feel proud of and enjoy the most.  One is Feel & Draw; the other is Let’s JAM Some ART.  The former emphasizes on getting to know oneself and others through drawing and sharing.  The latter is an engaging activity which combines three key elements – communication, creativity, and fun.  After a theme is decided, the participants will start with one canvas and switch to a different one in a given time.  The painting is only completed when it has everyone’s thoughts and brush strokes. 

I’m thrilled to see all the happy exchange among the participants.  What excites me the most is when they can freely express and create.  Some people always keep a distance from visual art because they think they don’t know how to draw and will never paint well.  Yet I realize everyone seems to let go of such burdens and heartily adds life and colors on canvas when painting becomes a lively and carefree activity which can be shared with friends.  Whether you like abstract, realistic, or any other art style, you will have to JAM some ART with good friends when you come to W Studio.  The objective is to create sparks and have different attitude in each painting.  What you bring home will no longer be just a painting, but a precious memory and a refreshed self.
