The Olympics opening ceremony was AMAZING!!! It was totally way above expection! As I was watching it and hearing the numbers of people particpated & the amount of money China government spent on the event, I felt SOOOOOOOO PROUD of China! The first show already set the edge, making it so different from the ordinary opening shows. And then there came the HUGE LED screen with ancient dancing and instrument playing. Perfect combination of advanced technology and traditional culture!
It seems that the world was very impressed as well and said that it was *the most spectacular* opening ceremony in Olympics history. However, it makes me angry to hear some critics later on. Fake footprints of fireworks on TV? Lip syncing? Please, almost all the big shows have some special effects on TV, right? The footprints of fireworks were just a very small part of the whole ceremony. A number of fireworks at Bird's Nest was real, the LED screen was real, the synchronized dancing was real, the flying of sending the torch up into the sky was real, and most importantly the whole idea and design of the show was real and authentic.
I guess the ending of the article gives a clue of where the critics come from, "The faking perhaps takes the pressure off the organisers of London 2012, who may have wondered how they were going to match the spectacular Beijing ceremony".
